FINSeC
The Financial Industry Networked Security Consortium (FINSeC) is a sector-driven R&D hub focusing academic expertise onto Financial Services and Banking (FS&B) security issues; a systematic development mechanism for solutions to cyber-terrorism & -security issues.
FINSeC has been envisaged as the blueprint for a "ship-yard" for security solutions, to:

FINSeC has been embraced by some of the leading universities such as Columbia, Cornell, Stevens Institute of Technology. FINSeC's pilot statements of work include:
| Building a forward-looking baseline framework to address regulatory and legal mandates |

| Developing an assessment of the many virtual boundaries security impacts |

| Providing a systematic mechanism for quantitatively measuring Security Risk |

| Creating a worm detection / remediation system capable of operating in real-time |

The FinSec Operating Model
The FINSeC operating model optimizes project and solution delivery. FINSeC represents a framework to drive expert efforts in a timely fashion onto sector-prioritized problems. Its collaborative projects will bring benefit to the industry; with individual firms already making use of its academic expertise.
